From 01.09.2021, the new Section 78 (5) of the Residence Act (AufenthG) creates the possibility of transferring the data of the electronic residence permit (eAT) – if desired – to the cell phone in order to prove identity. Applications to this effect can be submitted to the relevant immigration authority.
