The Federal Government has adopted an adjustment of the contribution assessment ceiling for pension insurance as of the new year. The Bundesrat still has to agree. However, it is foreseeable that this will increase the salary limits for visas/residence permits for employment purposes from 01.01.2024.
What salary limits will increase?
- Blue Card EU: €45,300
- EU Blue Card in shortage occupation / IT specialist or university degree acquired less than 3 years ago : 41.042 €
- Employment with extensive practical professional experience in accordance with Section 6 of the Employment Ordinance, not bound by collective bargaining (“experience pillar”): €40,770
- Professional athletes or coaches § 22 No. 4 and 5 BeschV: €45,300
- First-time employment of employees over the age of 45 in accordance with Section 18a of the Residence Act (qualified vocational training), Section 18b of the Residence Act (academics) or the Employment Ordinance (only professional drivers Section 24a, practical professional experience Section 6, nursing assistants Section 22a and Western Balkans Regulation Section 26): €49,830
