The Federal Government has adopted an adjustment of the contribution assessment ceiling for pension insurance for the year 2025. The Bundesrat still has to agree. However, it is foreseeable that the salary limits for visas/residence permits for employment purposes will increase as follows from 01.01.2025:
- EU Blue Card: €48,300
- EU Blue Card for shortage occupation / IT specialist or university degree acquired less than 3 years ago : €43,759.80
- Employment with extensive professional experience in accordance with Section 6 of the Employment Ordinance, not bound by collective bargaining (“experience column”): €43,470
- Professional athletes or coaches § 22 No. 4 and 5 BeschV: €48,300
- First-time employment of employees over 45 years of age in accordance with Section 18a of the Residence Act (skilled workers with vocational training), Section 18b of the Residence Act (skilled worker with a degree) or the Employment Ordinance (only professional drivers Section 24a, practical professional experience Section 6, nursing assistants Section 22a and Western Balkans Regulation Section 26): €53,130
