Government coalition finally reaches agreement on the reform of the Citizenship Act (StAG)

Reform of the StAG in 2024

The reform, which has been planned for some time, can now be discussed and passed by the Bundestag at the beginning of 2024.

Hardship clause

It remains to be seen what exactly the hardship clause that has now apparently been decided upon, which provides for discretionary naturalization for people with disabilities or other people who are in receipt of benefits through no fault of their own, will look like.
