According to the Federal Statistical Office, the number of naturalisations in 2022 reached its highest level in 20 years. In 2022, 168,500 foreigners were naturalized. As expected, Syrian nationals made up the largest group with 29%, followed by Turkish nationals with 8.45% and Romanian nationals with 4.1%. (Source: destatis)
