Employment of foreigners - new salary limits 2025

The German government has approved an adjustment to the contribution assessment ceiling for pension insurance for 2025. The Federal Council still has to give its approval. However, it is foreseeable that the salary limits for visas/residence permits for employment purposes will increase as follows from 01.01.2025:

Increase in the issuance of employment permits

According to the Federal Employment Agency, a total of 172,261 approvals for employment were granted in the period from January to September 2024, which represents an increase of 6,854 compared to the previous year. At the same time, the number of approvals in the non-academic sector rose by 28 percent to around 28,400.
